Having your own server means no one else can monitor or log your activity, and you can delete or reset the server whenever you want.

Using a VPN (a virtual private network) helps us access region-blocked services like Netflix, hide our information, avoid censorship, etc. There are many VPN service providers out there that you may have encountered while visiting several websites.

But the problem is the huge price you have to pay for a monthly or annual subscription that you don’t want to pay.

What you will achieve after this article:

  1. Get familiar with few concepts in the AWS cloud.
  2. A running server on amazon’s AWS platform, which we’ll use to connect our client and use the VPN.

AWS: You don’t need to know much about AWS here (you can always google it) because it will be confusing and is out of this article's scope. Know that AWS provides a platform for you to install a system like the one you are using right now, where we will start a VPN server (a program), which will act as a proxy for us.
